About the event
Expecting Parents Group from Papillon Collective
Whether it is your first pregnancy or multiple, it can be a long, lonely and difficult journey. Connecting with others who are on a similar journey can be very supportive, no matter how you are feeling.
This in-person 8 week session is focused on the birthing person. Pregnancy is a physical, emotional and mental transformation. This group is not a typical birthing class. We will focus each week on topics ranging from how to build your postpartum village, how to prepare for relationship changes, what you really need for the first few weeks (for you!) and more. We will welcome guest speakers from the community to provide education and resources to support your pregnancy journey and into postpartum.
What you'll get -
a dedicated space to share your pregnant experience with others who get it
tips and tricks from experts in the community around what to expect during labor, postpartum experience like sleep, feeding and caring for infants
What's App group to stay connected with other moms in between and after group sessions
supportive facilitator to help you navigate all the questions, worries, concerns and joys of what is to come
Our Expecting Parents group is facilitated by Maya LeaJames of Maya LeaJames Coaching. A parent coach that supports parents no matter where they are on their parenthood journey, to find their calmer, more confident self.
About Maya LeaJames

With a background in education and certifications in conscious parent coaching and neuro-linguistic programming, Maya LeaJames is passionate about helping mothers break free from cycles of guilt, shame, and overwhelm. She empowers them to feel calmer, more confident in their parenting strengths, and more attuned in their relationships—so their entire family can thrive. Her mission is deeply personal—after experiencing the loneliness of postpartum and the turmoil of raising a strong-willed toddler while secretly battling the shame of wanting to run away, she knows firsthand how isolating early motherhood can feel. Today, she is dedicated to creating spaces where mothers and children feel deeply seen, heard, and understood.
