About the event

This isn’t another checklist for the baby.

This is preparation for you.

Over two immersive sessions, this workshop is designed to help you move from feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of motherhood… to grounded, confident, and deeply connected to yourself.

Together, we focus on three core pillars:

Understanding yourself —

Make sense of the emotional, mental, and identity shifts of Matrescence so you’re not caught off guard by them.

Trusting yourself —

Learn how to quiet the noise, tune into your intuition, and feel confident in your decisions—before and after baby arrives.

Advocating for yourself —

Build the skills to communicate your needs clearly—whether it’s with your partner, providers, family, or workplace.

You won’t just take in information—you’ll build confidence and connection alongside other women going through the same transition.

In our second session, partners are invited to join—so they can better understand your experience, learn how to support you, and strengthen your communication as you step into this next chapter together.

Because preparing for motherhood isn’t just about the baby.

It’s about who you’re becoming—and how supported you feel along the way.

Topics / Themes that we will cover:

  • Preparing your village and how to ask for support

  • How to communicate with your partner (or support person) in stressful situations

  • Understanding your stress cycle and how to support yourself, your partner

  • How to tap into your intuition, "your knowing"

  • What you really need to know about those first two weeks postpartum - baby products, house setup, and more

  • What to expect with you and your baby's sleep

  • The common red flags (and mis-identified red flags) of breastfeeding and feeding

  • How to support your pelvic floor (what is even a pelvic floor!)

  • and more

Hosted at the beautiful space of Her Sanctuary, a sacred, feminine temple and community at The Ford Building in SE Portland.

Facilitated by Caitlin Cunningham, Owner and Creator of Papillon Collective.
